Description
FIRST UK EDITION hardback, published in 1973 by Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons Ltd. Dust jacket reads: ‘The most comprehensive collection of knitting patterns ever assembled. It contains over 500 patterns gathered from various sources, some modern, some dating from the great periods of traditional knitting hundreds of years ago’. There are instructions for virtually every known pattern with names such as Bell and Bell-Ropes, Candle Flames, Dots and Dashes, Triple Torch, Navajo Basket, Slipped Hourglass and Honeycomb Tweed to name but a few. The book is ‘dedicated to creative knitters of the past and creative knitters of the future’. In excellent vintage condition, just very slight damage to dust jacket, see photos. Sold as seen. From a pet and smoke-free home.
