John George Wood was a well-known parson and naturalist of the Victorian era, who popularised natural history with his writings. Here he gives an insight into the beautiful order of the animal world. Illustrated with black and white pen and ink drawings engravings. Published by George Routledge & Sons Ltd, London. Publication date not given, but believed to be around 1890 (as indicated by a hand-written inscription inside the front cover). Condition is used. The clothbound hardcover cover has become partly detached, but not entirely (see photos). Priced to reflect condition. Sold as seen. From a pet and smoke-free home.
