A Nao Lladro Porcelain Figurine: Boy with Books.

This is a Nao Lladro Porcelain Figurine. It is named Boy with Books. Apparently boys used to be employed in libraries to collect books. The approx. measurements of this one is: it is 10.1/2" (26.5cm) tall & the base is 3.1/4"x3" (8cm x 7.5cm). There is a small blue sticker on the back of the boy with the no.5 in it. The base has a small white sticker on it with 233 on it. The Nao stamp and Made in Spain are also on the base. There are other marks which I understand are just manufacturing process marks. The material is porcelain and the condition is very good. It was my mother-in-law's and she had it when I first met her which is 40 odd years ago so it will be older than that. She always looked after her things and this was no exception. Apparently these figurines are expertly designed, crafted and hand painted by highly skilled Nai artisans in the company's workshop near Valencia, Spain. The boy with books was originally launched in 1966 by Jose Roig although Nao wasn't created until 1968 as far as I am aware. The style is very minimalist and contemporary. I am looking for a new home for this because I am downsizing my life's collections. It can be collected, it can be posted or I can meet within a reasonable distance. I have other items for sale and I would be happy to combine and do a deal.
