Two vintage gilded artistic glass sculptures of ships encased in glass: Exploration ships: Santa Maria, Golden Hind.

Maker: Fantasy Gifts Artistic Glass Sculptures

Date: Circa 1980s

Theme: Exploration ships

Both of these vintage miniature pieces of art are made from hand-blown glass and have 22 carat gilded sails. They are in excellent condition.

The Santa Maria:
• The flagship of Christopher Columbus’s first voyage to the Americas in 1492.
• A petite and delicate piece that sits inside a glass narrow-necked bottle with a bubble-shaped stopper.
• The bottle rests inside the curve of a handmade wooden display stand.
• 'Santa Maria 1492' is engraved on a golden plate that is positioned on its wooden display.
• Length: 18cm
• Width: 5cm (from the widest part, which is the stand)
• Height: 6cm (on stand)

The Golden Hind:
• Captained by Sir Francis Drake between 1577 and 1580, it was the first English ship to successfully circumnavigate the globe.
• A petite and delicate piece that is encased within a glass and wood mini cabinet.
• ‘Golden Hind’ is engraved on a golden plate that is positioned on the wooden display below the ship.
• Length: 15cm
• Width: 7cm
• Height: 8cm
