Description
Here for sale is a lovely silver coated Elkington plate from 1945.
The markings on the bottom surface read: 28857
E&Co (within a shield-like recess)
E & Co.
ELKINGTON PLATE
J (within a shield-like recess which indicates the year 1945).
The plate has usual usage marks & scratches here & there as evident from the photos. No dents. Overall in good condition but could do with a good wipe & maybe a polish for best results.
Dimensions (cm): 29.6(L) x 21.9(W) x 4.4(D).
There is an additional marking on the side that reads ‘AWD’. I haven’t managed to find out what it represents despite all the browsing; however, it could possibly be the initials of the maker’s or sponsor’s. If anyone has any idea what it may be, please do reach out.
