Description
Antique fireplace fire surround insert.
The insert is designed to sit within a surround, and would look lovely sitting within one of a contrasting material like wood or stone. There are two fixing loops on the reverse to assist with fixing to a wall (one is damaged).
Fully restored, stripped and polished with Liberon Iron Paste which has been buffed to give a graphite shine, but could be made matt black with another coat and no buffing.

Measurements should not be considered absolutely precise!
The surround protrudes at the back by about 5cm so it would need to sit over an opening.
Marks and wear consistent with its life in use. Some sections of the inner arch have been strengthened with epoxy steel. No obvious other damage. This is an authentic little period piece that has been well used.
