Cast Iron Fireplace Insert Surround,
Foundry Marks : Cn. Co. / CARRON
Registration Diamond Dated : 28th April 1874.
We are delighted to offer this gorgeous antique cast iron fireplace surround insert. This is a genuine late 19th Century reclaimed survivor. In cast in iron with foundry marks to the back ' CARRON' & ' Cn. Co.' & Registration Diamond dates this piece to 28th April 1874. The front has a classic wide arch design with cross & dash gallery boarder. It comes with fleur-de-lis back plate, original fire brick & base grate insert. Lots of lovely wear, scuffs, all of which just adds to it's antique charm. It remains in good strong usable solid condition with No chips or Cracks. It's been cleaned up a little, just to bring out the cast details. It's design is typical of it's late 19th Century period & is dated nicely to 1874. A genuine Victorian reclaimed example & would look just fabulous in a country house setting.
