Description

Do you want to be part of a project aimed at helping young people across Cardiff who are experiencing homelessness?

How about working for a charity that is well known across the world for being there to help and support others?

We are looking for two Youth Support Workers to do just that.

You'll be there to listen, advise and support. To act with compassion, respect and understanding. All the while, promoting client choices and assisting in the delivery of a successful programme.

THIS IS A 30 HOURS PER WEEK POSITION

What will you get?

Salary of 27,600 (pro rata for part time)This equates to 13.31 per hourTemporary Contract – with a view to moving towards a permanent positionThe option to cover other shifts Pension schemeGood holiday entitlement30 hours per weekCovering various shift patterns: 7am to 3pm / 1pm to 9pm / 8am to 8pm Working on a rota

What do you need?

Experience of working with young people, or those who have been through homelessness An understanding of trauma and how it can effect behaviours The ability to work with others, encourage them and understand their complex lives Be non–judgemental and empathetic Able to communicate at all levels Willing to cover various shift patterns Be motivated to help others Able to complete a DBS check or have a live check on the update service (this will be covered by the employer)

What will I do?

You'll work at one of two projects across Cardiff set up specifically to support young peopleYou'll work within a psychologically informed frameworkAiming to deliver zero evictions within the projectsOffer post–resettlement support to young people Help them to move and settle in to independent living once they are readyComplete risk assessments and support plansTake on a caseload of 10 to 12 young peopleWork in in trauma informed environment
