Senior R&D Chemist – Polymers

Liverpool

Salary – 40,000 – 55,000 (depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading global manufacturer of speciality polymers. Based in the Liverpool area, they have recently started hiring for a role on their R&D team. This opportunity would suit someone with a strong background in polymers R&D or a similar industry, who are capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Applications welcome from chemists with skills in formulation of polymers, coatings, adhesives and similar industries.

Role Description

Leading the development and innovation of new polymer productsManaging projects relating to the research and development of polymers and compositesAnalysing and interpreting data to drive new product developmentLiaising both internally and externally with quality and manufacturing teams to ensure successful scale up of formulationsAdhering closely to health and safety regulations whilst working in the laboratorySupporting quality teams to investigate potential issues and provide improvements

Requirements

Degree in Chemistry – PhD would be beneficial but not essentialSignificant recent experience in and R&D role in a relevant industry (polymers, coatings, adhesives, sealants or similar)Industrial project management experience would be a distinct advantageExperience of working in a laboratory/material processing environmentKnowledge of extrusion and injection moulding would be advantageousAbility to travel or relocate to the Liverpool areaA strong understanding of analytical and physical testing techniquesFull right to work in the UK.
