Outreach Support Worker – Care Leavers

Children and Young People– 16– 20 Years old

Looked After Children

Location: Calderdale, HD5

Essential– Driver with access to own vehicle

Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: 14.54– 15.60 per hour

( 28,353 – 30,420 per annum)

The 37 hours are worked over 5 days in any one week (Mon–Sun) planned on a 3 week rolling rota pattern. This 3 week pattern includes 2 weekend shifts (Sat or Sun).

Within this role support around 5 Young People and visit roughly 3 times per week

A vacancy has arisen for a special individual to join our team of exceptional people who, every single day, make a real difference to the lives of young people leaving care. We are an innovative children and young people's social care team, looking for the right person to join us in our age–16+ supported accommodation service as an outreach worker.

You just need to have the ambition to support young people in their journey of independence, taking their next steps towards a healthy, fulfilling life. This is a varied and interesting role for the right person where you will visit young care leavers at their own accommodation within the community.

Supporting and helping young people to progress will be fundamental to the role. You'll help them to become more confident with everyday practical skills, such as budgeting and making medical appointments, as well as encouraging the longer–term aims of learning and work.

Every step in independence you support a young person with contributes to their wellbeing, security and happiness.

Essential criteria:

A genuine commitment to looked after young people and anti–oppressive practiceLevel 3 or Be working towards a QCF Level 4 DiplomaPrevious experience of working in a childcare or support work setting, or a role/s where there are transferable skillsGood communication and IT skillsTo arrange a confidential chat please 'Apply' with an up to date CV
