Description
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Housing Officer to join our responsive housing team. You will be the first point of contact for people in urgent housing need, assessing cases, arranging immediate accommodation, and working closely with partner agencies to ensure safety and stability.
Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to emergency housing referrals and crisis situations.
Assess housing needs in line with legal obligations and organisational policies.
Source, arrange, and manage temporary and emergency accommodation.
Liaise with local authorities, landlords, and support services.
Maintain accurate and timely case records.
Provide clear guidance and compassionate support to service users.
About You You will bring a mix of professionalism, empathy, and quick decision-making to high-pressure situations.Essential skills and experience:
Experience in housing, homelessness, or related support services.
Strong knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices.
Ability to manage high caseloads and respond to urgent situations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Resilient, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
