Behaviour Support Assistant - London Secondary School

We are looking for a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant to support students in a secondary school setting. The ideal candidate will bring:

Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques, restorative practice, and positive reinforcement.Ability to build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.Effective classroom support skills - adapting learning tasks, assisting with lessons, and providing 1:1 or small group interventions.Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents.Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.Resilience, empathy, and patience when supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.Strong organisational skills, including record-keeping and reporting of behavioural progress. The Role of Behaviour Support Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group interventions.Implement proven behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create a positive learning environment.Support pupils in developing resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships.
