Description

ABC Teachers are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behavioral Support Assistant to work within Schools in Birmingham.

The role

–A Behavior Support Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting individuals who may have challenging behaviors, often in educational or therapeutic settings.

–Their primary responsibility is to assist and implement strategies designed to address and manage challenging behaviors.

–Assisting in the development of individualized behavior intervention plans based on assessment findings.

–Working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure consistency in implementing behavior interventions.

–Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting positive reinforcement and alternative, more adaptive behaviors.

–Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in behavior support through continuous professional development.

–Constant Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure consistency in behavior management.

–Following an embedded ethos to ensure students can reach their full potential.

About you:

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked after children.Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with studentsAble to obtain suitable references and a DBS check. ABC Teachers is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
