Freelance PR Specialist - Consumer Comms Campaign

Hybrid - 3 days in the office (West Midlands)

1-month contract (starting 14th August), potential to extend

I'm working with a well-known organisation in the utilities sector that is looking for an experienced Freelance PR Specialist to support a high-impact consumer comms.

This is a fast-paced, one-month project (with potential to extend), ideal for someone who thrives in regulated environments and can quickly get to grips with media handling, tone of voice, and public-facing communications.

The role will involve:

Acting as the press office lead - managing media enquiries, drafting responses, and arranging interviews

Leading on social media activity - including social listening, community management, and reporting

Creating and pre-scheduling campaign content

Collaborating with internal teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging

Managing tone and reputation across both media and social platforms

You'll need to bring:

Strong experience in PR, media relations, and crisis comms

A confident grasp of tone, messaging, and reputation management

The ability to work under pressure and deliver quickly

Previous experience working in regulated, consumer-facing sectors (e.g. utilities, transport, healthcare)

Availability to be onsite 3 days per week (West Midlands HQ)
