Description
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM!
This T-60 instrument is a stunning and standout moment in Peavey's file of music history.
I’m honestly stunned by how nice it is to play this guitar. It feels, sounds, and looks incredible.
This was not only the first guitar that Peavey ever made, but it was also the first guitar in history to be made using CNC tech. The beautiful irony of that, is the striking natural beauty of the Swamp Ash from head to end strap pin. The T-60 guitar production run in Meridien, MS began in 1978 & ended in 1986.
You can't go too far into a conversation about this guitar without mentioning the control system. The tone knob doubles as a blend control, allowing you to toggle between hum bucking and coil-tapped sounds from the bridge pickup—an uncommon feature on most guitars.
**FYI: A note re the unique tone circuit & capabilities courtesy of:
The Fascinating Peavey T-60 Tone Circuit ~~
Dirk Wacker July 3, 2020 issue Premier Guitar
“The guitar was loaded with two epoxy-potted four-conductor "full-range" hum buckers with a blade design, aka Super Ferrite pickups. They were covered with Rick-style toaster design pickup covers, had standard PAF dimensions, and were designed to sound good as hum buckers and single-coils when in split mode.” **
The overall weight of the T-60 plays a significant role in its signature sound, while the neck offers a surprisingly thin profile.
