Description
Baritone Taylor Model GT-8 (2009)
This guitar plays and sounds excellent and is in good condition for its age. It does have some age related marks in some places but as I say thats to be expected for its age. The electronics (Which I tend not to use work perfectly) Two things on this guitar have been changed 1. I upgraded the wooden saddle strings pegs. For higher quaility ones and I also replace the truss rod cover. The old one split.
This model has 8 strings. Six thicker strings tuned to B-E-A-D-Fsharp and B a perfect fourth below standard tuning. It has got two other much lighter strings tuned to the octave of the D and A strings, creating a "shimmer" effect similar to a 12-string.
Indian Rosewood back and sides that has dark rich finish and coupled with a brilliant close grained Sitka Spruce top. This guitar has recently had a set up and neck readjustment by a top Guitar tech. It played well before but I wanted it to give the prospective new owner the very best this guitar had to offer. This GT-8 Series Taylors differs for the new Baritone model, in that it used there more traditional bracing pattern which give the instrument a really deep warm sound with ethereal harmonically rich tone of the two higher pitched trebles!
Not my clip but put the lick into YouTube to hear how this model sounds strummed!
