Description
This is a handmade guitar in the style of a 1961 Gibson SG, please be clear it is not a Gibson. The headstock shape is slightly different to the original to ensure nobody could try and pass it off as an original.
That said, this is made by well known luthier James Payze from solid mahogany with a nitro finish which has been chemically aged with fabulous checking (very hard to photograph). Top class Faber hardware plus a pair of Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups. It has a fuller 50s style neck like some of the very early 60s SGs had.
James mostly makes guitars as custom orders, but he made this for himself. As a custom order it would cost around £1800.
If you are after a handmade nitro finished SG with quality hardware but don't want to pay Gibson Custom Shop prices, come and try this. It is very lightweight and rings nicely.
Hard case pictured is included at £950.
