A modern take on the classic J-style bass, the Sandberg Electra TT comes coated in a glistening high-gloss paint-job, mounted with two Alnico 5 single-coils and kitted out with active two-band EQ controls. While this bass could be yours for a fairly hefty investment, what you get in return is actually an affordable, German-built masterpiece of a four-string that brings all the tonal flexibility of a set of accurate boost and cut bass and treble controls, and all the playing comfort of modern body contouring.

The Sandberg Electra TT: Modern Style & Modern Versatility

The lightly modernised body has been carved from a solid yet lightweight chunk of basswood, which lays down a full and fat sonic foundation framed by clearly emphasised mids, while the hard Canadian maple neck injects a touch of bite and the rosewood fretboard rounds everything off with warmth. Two exclusive in-house designed J-style single-coils, each equipped with Alnico 5 magnet, give this bass a passive, vintage style character when the active preamp is bypassed. But the moment preamp is engaged, the tone controls and balance pot open up a small universe of variable bass sound.

A Personalised Bass

The set up as well as the sound of this bass can also be fully personalised, from the string spacing to the string height and the intonation of the highly-stable Sandberg four-saddle bridge. The headstock-mounted string-guide for the A, D and G strings and the machine head resistance can also be tweaked, while a pre-installed zero-fret guarantees consistent response and note definition along the entire length of the fretboard.
