Description

For sale is my Mark III Purple Stripe guitar amp
The amp has been stored in a smoke free, pet free space and treated with love and care over the years

This 1986 Mesa Mark III is running perfectly, It also includes three footswitches.

The amp is in good condition for its age
Everything you expect in a Mark III - extreme versatility from huge cleans to full on overdrive.
I am selling the amp as I no longer a use for it and also, it is a very heavy item to move around

The Mark III offers three separate channels: a clean channel that is warm and lush, a rhythm channel with a gritty, midrange-focused sound, and a lead channel capable of producing searing, high-gain saturation.
The Purple Stripe designation refers to a specific iteration within the Mark III series -the second revision that featured a purple marker stripe above the power cord. This ampli-fier was identical in component values and R2 channel as the later Black Stripes, but had a lead section much closer to a IIC+
The amp boasts Mesa’s Simul-Class power section, which combines Class A and Class AB amplification for a blend of warmth, dynamics, and headroom.

One of the most important amps Mesa Boogie's history, the Mark III launched in 1985 and brought a third "crunch" channel the party, offering even more versatility to an already-winning formula of paint-peeling volume and a wider range of tones than any of the mass-produced amps of the time. Slightly revised each year from 1985 - 1989, most of these amps will come with Reverb and Presence controls on the rear panel and, though it was optional, the 5-band graphic equalizer made it onto a majority of Mark IIIs.
