Limelight Custom PJ Bass 2021 - Nitro Cellulose, Light Medium Relic, plays brilliantly and looks ace!

I bought this bass some time ago – I’d never owned a Limelight bass but I had heard of their reputation and seen them online. Their reputation is well-deserved, this bass is really comfortable to play, a reasonable weight at 4.24 Kgs (9lb 6oz), and has a great thumping sound. The Precision pickup is enhanced with the inclusion of a Jazz pickup at the bridge, and this allows for an array of great sounds. Neck width at the nut is a Precision-friendly 42mm.

Limelight make wonderful replica Fender basses and this one is no exception. They only build limited numbers from quality parts so I believe there's currently a waiting list. This is a lovely example of Mark's work down at Cool & Classic guitars. Lovely to play, typical Precision Bass sounds but the addition of the Jazz pickup at the bridge really adds a multitude of additional sounds - it looks great with the tort scratchplate.

The bass is finished in sonic blue nitro cellulose and nicely relic’d. The pickup covers had been changed to white, but I have reverted to the original black covers - I can include the cream ones in the sale if requested. The back of the neck is lovely and smooth worn/satin and so nice to play,

This is a Sonic Blue Precision with added Jazz pick up. Controls are volume, pickup blend, and tone controls. The jack is side-mounted. The bass has a rosewood fretboard on a Precision Bass width neck (42mm), Big TV logo on the headstock, and reverse tuners. According to Limelight it has been treated to a light/medium relic, and is fitted with a tortoiseshell pickguard

This bass would be over £1450 if ordered new and built 4 years ago and there’s a waiting list as limited numbers are made.

Information from Limelight:

The Limelight's are all built using top quality parts. The bodies are made new for us from Alder (or Ash) in the UK.

The necks are new genuine Fender Licensed parts bought in bare wood and finished in nitro, aged, clay dots added if appropriate and hand rolled fret and finger board edges. They have medium frets and a radius of 9.5”

The pots are CTS, jack is Switchcraft with vintage wiring.

All the basses are sprayed and relic'd by Limelight. There are only 2 of us involved in the making and we're not taking on any staff, so only ever limited numbers will be produced!

Please note this instrument is second hand and will have some age related marks, this just adds to the character of the instrument. I will point all these out before a sale
