Description
G&L Guitars By Leo Fender Comanche in Sunburst from 2004.
A Unique, USA-Made G&L Comanche. This is the most highly spec’d and visually striking USA made Comanche I’ve ever come across.
Key features include:
Birdseye Maple Neck, unlike the standard plain maple.
Swamp Ash Body, finished in a stunning gloss sunburst with a gloss black back and faux binding. The faux binding technique involves carefully removing the color coats from the edge of the body before applying the clear topcoat, creating the illusion of a bound top. This labor-intensive detail is uncommon due to its complexity and cost and it looks fantastic.
The guitar is in excellent condition for its age. There are only minor signs of wear on the back, with no major chips or missing finish.
This instrument has been professionally inspected and serviced, and it plays beautifully.
As for tone, the G&L Comanche stands out thanks to its distinctive Magnetic Field Design (MFD) Z-Coil pickups. These pickups have an unusual offset “Z” shape that enhances low-end clarity on the bass strings and adds sparkle to the treble, while eliminating hum. This innovative design was Leo Fender’s final evolution of the Stratocaster concept, addressing classic issues like single-coil hum and unstable vibrato systems.
Includes original hard case.
Weighs 8.2lbs.
Trades considered with cash either way.
Collection from Byfleet or can ship anywhere in the UK.
