Great for a beginner - yes, people often think that a "Spanish" type acoustic guitar would be great to learn on, well, they have probably put more people off learning than anything else, generally speaking, they have a dreadfully shaped neck, the strings are are thick and miles away from the fingerboard - they are a pain, literally, to play! Something like this, which is properly set up, is a breeze to play

This one was made in the Cort factory in Indonesia, top quality manufacturer and this is the rare version with the curved neck heel joint to help access high up the neck. Nice Strat sounds and a good quack!

Fender took a Standard Stratocaster and pimped it - reverse headstock a la Hendrix, curved neck plate like USA Deluxe, Pickups body mounted. HSS. Hot sweet pickups.
The varnished neck is made of maple with a dark rosewood fingerboard – almost unthinkable for guitars of this price range today.
12.6-inch fingerboard radius, a bit flatter than the typical Fender feel, sort of like Gibson/Epiphone with a longer 25.5-inch scale length.
If there was any justice in this world these guitars would be fetching £500 a pop.

Plays great - these were a limited run of Squier Superstrats around 2002-2004 and are amazing guitars for the money using good quality components. There were a bunch of variations - the non-Floyd-Rose ones like this were the best, if you're in the market for a Standard Strat you may wish to consider this instead, they are that good!

Hendrix used reverse headstocks like this because it reduces the tension on the top strings making them easier to bend.

Another nice touch is the pickups mounted direct to the body which is supposed to improve tone. Certainly sounds good. Look after this and it will continue to gently appreciate. These models are greatly under-valued for what they are. A unique look and a cracking set of pickups.
