1983 Epiphone Sheraton - Wine Red w/OHSC (Matsumoku / Japan / MIJ)

For sale is my Epiphone Sheraton. This guitar was made in 1983 at the highly reputable Matsumoku factory in Japan.

This particular model specification was only in production between 1983 through until 1986, at which point Epiphone moved manufacturing to Korea.

These early 80's Matsumoku instruments were the precurser to Epiphone's Elite / Elitist line of guitars manufactured at the Terada factory in Japan.

The most famous users of Matsumoku Epiphones were Noel Gallagher and Paul Arthurs of Oasis, who both used early 80's Epiphone Rivieras.

The guitar is in very good condition for being 42 years old. Action is low and fast. Has some honest play wear and there are some very small scratches and surface swirl marks in the finish which are only visible in certain light / angles. The gold hardware shows a nice patina effect where it has naturally aged / faded. Guitar is all original parts / no modifications.

Comes with original Epiphone hard shell case.

I am downsizing my guitar collection, hence reason for sale.
