Grade 8 in Classical Guitar (ABRSM) – Grade 5 Music Theory (ABRSM) – Member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors. DBS/CRB Checked.

Whether for fun or study, Andy teaches most styles of guitar from beginner to advanced to all ages. If you are looking to learn solo style, to accompany voice or perhaps play in a band then Andy can guide you.
He also teaches other stringed instruments such as bass guitar, mandolin and ukulele.
Andy has over 20 years teaching experience (over 45 years as a player).

For those interested in exams, Andy has a 100% pass rate and the average score is 85% (a Distinction).
He has taught members of many top local bands including 3 members of Deaf Havana whose last three studio albums all reached the top 10 in the UK album charts.

I’ve been learning guitar with Andy Graham for around 7 years now. Pieces learned range from finger style to introductory classical and acoustic & electric. He has always shown patience and explained how best to tackle a piece of music in performance. I started as a beginner with some knowledge Andy has assisted in my personal development as a guitar player. A knowledgeable professional music & great teacher. Recommended.

Andy is very knowledgeable and experienced with multiple styles of guitar, and is fantastic at helping out with techniques and giving freedom with the style of guitar I want to play. I started out being between beginner and intermediate with not much in my repertoire for playing, but after a few months Andy has helped me to start building a repertoire of music and now moving onto playing some of my favourite songs, whilst implementing theory and making it easier to learn through practical exercises.

Andy took the time to call me and go through my interests and what I was looking for in lessons. He then set out a plan and consulted my opinion to make sure we were on the same page in regards to how to achieve my targets. So far, so good.

I am approaching my 80th birthday in September having first picked up a guitar about four years ago. I started by working from a guitar tutor book, but I took a big step forward when I commenced having lessons. A couple of months ago saw the second anniversary of my first lesson with Andy Graham of Stone Pony. The fact that I am still with him two years later already tells you just how very satisfied I am with his teaching, and I am very happy to add to that by saying that he has been a great help to me. He is very professional, whilst being very gentle, very kind, patient and encouraging . I have no experience of any other guitar teachers to compare him with, but it says it all when I comment that I feel no need to try anyone else either. He is just great. Thank you Andy.

Andy is a very experienced guitar player and teacher with lots of different playing styles under his belt. Starting out as a beginner, me and Andy addressed my interests and goals in guitar playing so that he could create a plan to help me reach that goal. I am 1 year into my journey and Andy is still my guitar teacher which shows I am more than satisfied with what he has taught me, and I've made so much progress thanks to him
