The Stihl GHE 355 is a powerful electric shredder, from the Stihl range, and can easily handle larger quantities of hard tree cuttings as well as those softer plant trimmings and even garden waste. This is why the Stihl GHE 355 is an excellent all-rounder.
The Stihl GHE 355 features a powerful motor and this, combined with the sandwich-type blade unit ensures that this electric shredder is pretty much ready for anything. It can keep every corner of your garden looking it’s very best with the minimum of fuss. The simple yet essential integrated spray protection gives the user a shield against any swirling dirt.
A fantastic feature of the Stihl GHE 355 is the highly regarded BRS (blade rotation reverse system). This clever reversal mechanism allows you to adapt the blade unit to suit the job in hand. For example, if you select a clockwise rotation the sharp blades can shred hard and woody material, but if you select the anti-clockwise direction the blades can shred soft plant trimmings into compostable material. Using this system correctly will not only give you excellent results but will ensure the blades stay sharper for longer.
Stihl takes your safety very seriously and that is why the Stihl GHE 355 has been fitted with an innovative electromagnetic safety lock. This ensures that the shredder will not start up accidentally whilst you are carrying out routine maintenance or changing the blade. As soon as the closure screws on the machine are unscrewed the safety switch is tripped and therefore the current flow is interrupted and the motor cannot be started.
Featuring a large soundproofed feed chute, you’ll notice it is at a comfortable working height. Branches with side shoots and large quantities of clippings can all be fed into the shredder with the greatest of ease. Once you are operating the machine you will be pleased to note the soundproofed feed chute offers a much more comfortable and relaxed working environment.
