Description
Vintage fully restored chess computer. The Conchess is a remarkable chess computer. The pieces are moved by means of the individual led's located on the 64 playing squares of the board. After the first piece is moved the computer makes its move by flashing the led which it wants to move and the flashing led on the board indicates which square to move the piece to. The bonus with this set is the troublesome reed relays (which can oxidise over time and make the game unplayable) have all 64 of them been replaced with new reeds. The various push buttons on each side of the board have also been cleaned and are fully functional. The Conchess was provided with a single module when released with the option of having the upgrade modules fitted at a later date if you wished. This is what we have here, a fully reconditioned set with the later upgrade to the program modules fitted (very rare).
There is also a variety of the correspondence / magazines from the era as well (see pictures for details). The instructions describe the various levels of play you are able to use the machine at, mate problems, pawn promotion etc. The original box is in very good condition as it is now forty+ years old.
This is a lovely board game suitable for good club players to practice with or family members wanting to get more involved in this ancient game.
