With a heavy heart we are selling Bessie, our Ford Freda/Mazda Bongo. Our children are growing up and after five years of exciting trips we are finding we are not using it as much as we would like, but it would make a wonderful family camper van and is ready to go for exploring and holidays.
Mileage is low (116000) given its age.
MOT until July 2026
It comes with the usual upkeep issues of being an older vehicle but we have done our best to look after it. Here’s the work done:
Cam belt changed 2017,
Cross member replaced, wheel arches replaced in 2019.
Cylinder head refitted and reworked in 2019
Rear silencer 2021
Battery switch added to turn off battery when not used long term 2021
Welding completed for MOT July 23
Replacement cooling pipes, hose and clips, system bleed and checked over Mar 24
New alternator April 25
Seating and seatbelts for 5 people.
Swivel seat which converts to a double bed.
Removable fitted double mattress.
It has a motorised pop-up top (a few mould patches which could do with a clean) that can sleep two.
Kitchen conversion fitted by Northstar conversions Isle of Wight includes 2 flame gas hob and sink.
Fire extinguisher, Gas cylinder.
Storage cupboards, Interior lights, 2 x 13amp UK plugs, usb connectors, wheel chocks, rear door blocks.
Fitted thermal windscreen covers (windscreen 2 doors and tailgate).
240v Electric hook-up.

Leisure battery.
Bluetooth DAB radio (passenger speaker comes on and off!)
