Ford Focus Estate 2016 EcoBoost 1.0L Petrol Grey £20 Tax, 100% ULEZ Compliant.

I bought this from David Hendry Ford in Malmesbury in November 2019. It was an ex-company lease vehicle at the time with only one previous owner; I’m the second owner.

The car has been very reliable and well looked after. No smoking, pets or children in the vehicle while I’ve owned it, and before that it was a company car so I’d assume the same then.

It's very economical on fuel. Average fuel consumption is 46.5mpg, according to the trip computer from about 2,000 miles of driving. This is a combination of both local and motorway journeys, so the fuel economy on motorways is probably closer to 50mpg.

It has 158,000 miles on the clock, a lot of which was done in late 2019 through to mid-2021 when I was regularly driving - from where we used to live in Tibshelf, Derbyshire - to Alnwick in Northumberland for a work project twice a week!

I took it into Perrys Ford in Alfreton in early April 2023 for a minor software update, and while I was there they advised me to have the wet belt changed as a precaution, as this was a known problem with this model. This was done the same week at a cost of about £1700. As a result, the replacement wet belt will ensure the car has at least another 80,000 miles or so before it will need to be changed again

It also had a brand new exhaust system fitted about a year ago (£500). Catalytic converter is fine and it's always passed the emissions test with flying colours.

The car has had regular oil changes, brand new tyres, new brakes, etc.
(I had this covered under Halfords Brakes For Life plan, so whenever they wore thin, Halfords replace them for me free of charge)

The brakes were replaced the same day that the MOT was done last year, and the same the year before.

It’s only ever failed an MOT once in 2020 and that was due to a defective indicator bulb!

The MOTs have always been done at reputable chain garages; mostly Halfords because under their motoring club they did a free MOT, but last year they were fully booked so it was tested at WeOnlyMOT in Mansfield.

Apart from that, the only advisories it’s had on the MOT have been for consumables (Brakes, tyres, etc).

The interior is in good condition with no damage to any of the seats or fabric. The rear seats have hardly ever been used.

No warning lights on the dashboard other than a tyre pressure sensor which may need to be replaced as the battery has run out - but the tyre itself is fine and has no problems. Costco quoted me about £30 to replace the sensor but they didn’t have one in stock at the time.

Everything in the car works perfectly; CD player, Bluetooth, Sync2 Sat-Nav, USB port, AUX inputDAB radio, touch screen, etc.

Both keys available including the ‘Red’ key from which duplicates can be made.

Overall, it’s been a very reliable car and I’m only selling it because I recently started a new job and decided to upgrade to a Tesla.

Bad points:

The air conditioning needs to be re-gassed soon as it’s not quite as cold as it could be.

There’s a tiny spot of rust on the front edge of the bonnet about the size of a penny coin.

A few very minor cosmetic dinks and scratches to the doors but these are only really noticeable if I point them out to you.
