Description

For sale is my unfinished Mk6 ford escort project car . 1.8 zetec engine.
The car it self is sound and starts ! Just dirty and faded.
The car is on a SORN and has no MOT so will need to be trailered away!
I have upgraded or replaced nearly every part imaginable on this car so everything on it is new and has never been driven since the start of the project.
I don't want my efforts to go to waste and it would be nice to finally see it finished , up and running.
Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to do that ! So here we are.
She is around 95% back together , just needs some arch moulds and some fresh tyres to get her through the next MOT. After that it's just a few little finishing touches and a good clean. (I was going to re paint it)

Things I have replaced , added or upgraded are :-

Front bumper (which I put led lights in)
Yellow spot lights
Power steering cooler
Oversized oil cooler
Radiator
Performance spark plugs and HT leads
Fuel rail adapter
Fuel rail regulator (adjustable) currently set about 2.4bar
Oversized throttle body with custom aluminium adapter (40% over standard)
Uprated alternator and starter motor
(higher outputs on both)
Huge leisure battery with high crank
New 3 piece clutch (LUK)
lightened fly wheel (1.4kg lighter)
Air conditioning removed
New auxiliary belt fitted
Cold start has been chipped
Cone filter
Bonnet vents and bulge
Sport dampeners all round with 60mm lowering springs (sits about 3.5" lower than standard )
Strut braces front and back (top mount)
New wishbones
Drilled and grooved disc's with green stuff brake pads
Arches have been cut and flared to compensate for the drop. Which is why it needs moulds to cover them
All new side sills ( old ones cut out , inside strengthened and new ones replaced )
New hand break cable and rear break shoes
Track spec , Sport cat - 100 cell
Centre box delete/straight pipe
Cherry bomb back box (6" round) 3.5" slash cut chrome tip (very loud)
Racing fuel pump (in tank)
Full GTi body kit (side skirts , rear spats and spoiler )
Interior has been removed except for door cards and head lining which is still to do or not up to you - NO BACK SEATS , CARPET or PARCEL SHELF
light weight military style bucket seats (black - possible 3kg each)
Red 3 point harnesses
Green led lights in the foot wells and boot
Double din touchscreen CD player
(Bluetooth , SD card , usb , DVD player. Has 12 outputs for speakers , subwoofer connection and a video input for a reverse camera)
All new fluids as well (engine oil , gearbox oil , power steering fluid and coolant ) can't remember if I changed the break fluid or not 🤔
2 sets of alloy wheels 14" gold tornados? GTis from a Peugeot and a set of 17" silver mielia 1000 ( heavily curbed , not by me )
There is probably more stuff that I have forgotten. I did start this a long time ago!!

The aim was to go drag racing at Santa pod with it , as well as keeping it street legal.

I estimated it to be 100+ kg lighter and have around 180bhp when finished , which should take the 0-60 time down to about 6 seconds.. standard is 9s I think

Thrust bearings needs to be fitted properly as I didn't do it right the first time and you can hear rattling on the shaft 🤦🏻‍♂️
