Stonham Barns Thursday & Sunday Car Boots + The Classic Car Show August 14th and 17th August 2025

Massive crowd on Sunday and over 230 sellers, great weather and although warm it was a really great day and packed with Buyers. This Sunday we have Stonhams most popular Show on at the same time as the Car Boot with The Classic Car Show so make sure you get there early for that one and it’s a must sell at Sunday. Before that, on Thursday, we expect a lot more buyers as we had plenty of sellers last week so come along and support us.

Covered stalls are available for any Sunday/Bank Holiday but hurry up as these will go quickly so text early to book one of the 20. The Covered stalls offer a guaranteed spot on the main field close to food and toilets, have an overhead cover offering shade plus a table-top and are only £13. Text to reserve one, Everyone else can just turn up on the day and sell from £7. Remember also it’s Bank Holiday Monday on the 25th August so we have a car boot on the Sunday and Monday.

Warm weather again on Thursday so come & sell or browse to grab a bargain and support us so we make this a regular event. A big thanks to all the sellers and buyers so far. The Summer holidays means the shops, owl sanctuary, campsites, FootGolf/Golf/Crazy Golf & even the dodgems will be open and busy. The Car Boot will be busy too but - come and have a wander round Stonham as there is lots more than just a car boot.

On Thursdays - Shops open at 10 so the Car Boot doesn’t liven up till 9am - as lots of people staying at Stonham are on holiday plus people on School holidays like a lie in.
Expecting a big crowd Sunday as usual. Covered stalls are available and offering shade/protection text to reserve one.

If you follow updates on facebook I announce if we are open on Thursdays/Sundays or just text/call me although the fields have been bone dry and desperately needed recent rain.

But despite all of this Crowds have been excellent and we have a good run of shows on as well.

Events run at the same time as the Car Boot so a bigger crowd always expected. We have two good shows and big extra crowds starting this week with The Classic Car Show on 17th August followed by Knuckle Busters at The Barns on 24th/25th August 2025 & we have lots more coming up which I’ll advertise as we get nearer to them. We are open on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August 2025 - these are really popular as well and the show is also open on Sunday & Monday.

On Thursday - It is £7 for all vehicles to sell at and free for all buyers including free parking. There are no pitch size restrictions and if you are going let as many potential buyers know as we are now at the Summer Holidays when numbers increase. Sellers are there supporting us trying to make this a regular car boot so come and take a look and grab some bargains and help us be here every Thursday. Really need some support from Buyers if you want this to be a regular event. Numbers will be much healthier this week.

On Thursdays & Sundays - 7am onwards is when most people arrive at the Car Boot although we cater for early arrivals and as late as gone 9am (on Thursdays & sometimes Sundays). Looking forwards we are asking sellers to not arrive earlier than 6am on Thursdays but up till gone 9am to set up.

So come & enjoy the special atmosphere at Stonham Barns Sunday Car Boot. It’s unlike all other car boots, full of amazing bargains and is the friendliest in Suffolk.

As usual no booking is needed to sell at the Car Boot so just turn up on the day.

New Prices for 2025 are as below:
The Gazebos are now charged plus you can choose to take extra space but it means an extra cost - the equivalent of paying as if you have a trailer on the back (or 2 cars space - £10 for a car for example).

Cars £7, Small Vans £8.50 (still), Cars with trailers £10, Small Vans with trailers £11.50, Large Vans £13, Large Vans with Trailers £16, Cars with Gazebos £10, Covered stalls £13, Huge Vans £16. I do charge £8.50 for large cars with pick ups on back. Thursdays all vehicles £7 no space restrictions.

We are still the best priced on Sundays & still the friendliest Car Boot in Suffolk so come & sell from only £7 (all vehicles) and still free parking & buying & everyone welcome to just turn up and have a look around as there’s so much to do at Stonham.

I've had a few questions about when we actually start. We always used to start at 8am and most people do still turn up at 8/8.30 but, we do get people arriving stupidly early onwards. So, it's really up to you. 7 onwards is sensible. We have enough space for everyone. Earliest arrival is from 5.30am but most sensible turn up from 7am. ON THURSDAY it’s 6AM for earliest arrivals.

We now have a licence allowing all Plant/Bulb Sellers or in fact any Gardening sellers to sell at the Car Boot. So NO RESTRICTIONS at all with any Gardening items. This is great news as I've had to turn so many people away. This is already bringing in a lot more sellers/buyers to Stonham. So, come and sell every Sunday. We are expecting some of the big plant and bulb sellers to start selling soon.

The Covered stalls are unique - these offer some shade to sellers as well as a tabletop & protection against wind & rain. These guarantee a main field position near to toilets and food/drinks. You pull behind them, set up and sell and pack up and leave at the end of the day.

Everyone else wishing to sell at Stonham can just turn up on the day. So you can just turn up from 7am and sell and that’s every Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays from March to October & now Thursdays too. We are also lucky to benefit from regular events at Stonham where the Car Boot crowd is often doubled & that’s on top of a very big buying crowd.

Everyone loves Stonham as its unbeatable when the weather is good. It has a great atmosphere and a knowledgeable friendly crowd made up of all ages. Families young and old, dog friendly and it caters for the disabled.

We let Buyers in at the same time as sellers but – please allow me to get everyone into position so please don’t hinder this and please don’t stand behind cars whilst they unload. No one is going to jump in and buy before you as it just isn’t that kind of car boot. The reason we have become so popular is because we don’t have people harassing sellers. If anyone oversteps their mark we will stop buyers entering the field until gone 7am.

We are outdoors only but offer covered stalls.
