Description

Our client is seeking a talented Static Stress Engineer to join their team in Filton. As a Static Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for performing stress analysis on the company's wing structures, investigating potential design improvements, and documenting static justifications of modifications and risk assessments of in–service occurrences.

Key Responsibilities of the Static Stress Engineer:

– Produce and collate data to enable trade studies and impact analysis, potentially including RF mitigations.

– Conduct static stress analysis of fixed–wing structures using the company's proprietary tools and methods.

– Compile static stress certification dossiers for both composite and metallic components.

– Perform pre–approval checks and approvals of dossiers if you hold a delegated signatory status.

– Collaborate closely with the wing teams to ensure seamless progress.

– Report on the progression of deliverables to the Delivery Team Leader.

– Functionally report to the Senior/Lead Stress Engineer on the work package.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience for the Static Stress Engineer:

– Proven experience within an aerospace environment.

– Prior experience of working within the company.

– Hands–on experience in airframe certification analysis, including in–service work.

– Demonstrated strength in problem–solving and finding analytical solutions.

– Ability to meet agreed delivery plans and report on the progression of deliverables.

Desirable Qualifications:

– Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.

– Delegated signatory status.

– Strong working knowledge of Nastran, Hyperworks, Python scripting, and ISAMI.

– Understanding of wing structures.
