Senior Project Manager – Electrical Transmission

Location: South Wales / South West (Hybrid with site travel)

Join a leading UK energy infrastructure provider working at the forefront of the transition to net zero. This organisation delivers end–to–end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV infrastructure, metering, and home decarbonisation.

In this role, you'll be part of a specialist Electrical Transmission management team, responsible for delivering high–voltage substation and transmission projects – up to and including 400kV – for major clients including National Grid and SSE.

What you'll be doing

Lead the construction team in delivering a portfolio of M&E projects from initiation to completion.Provide strategic health, safety, and environmental leadership to achieve the highest standards.Deliver projects to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.Collaborate with the planning team to ensure robust delivery programmes and progress tracking.Build a cohesive project management team ethos across Construction, Commercial, Design, and Engineering.Drive proactive risk management and timely resolution of technical and contractual matters.Contribute to tender bids with industry insight and expertise.Support monthly cost value reconciliations with the Commercial Manager.Lead the team to achieve financial targets and deliver against key performance measures.

What you'll bring

5+ years' proven leadership on large design–and–build projects, managing cross–functional teams.National Grid substation build experience, including knowledge of NG SRs, Rules, EPC/M&E frameworks.Strong stakeholder management skills with clients and suppliers.Construction/engineering qualification and/or relevant experience.Project management certification (APM, PMP, or equivalent).Strong commercial experience with NEC contracts (especially Option C).Demonstrated ability to manage risk and opportunity effectively.Sound regulatory knowledge (HSWA, CDM, EAWR, etc.).Budget management experience with a track record of delivery to time and cost.Proficiency in project management software.
