Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

Generate panel layouts and bills of materials.LV distribution and cable calculations.Generating electrical control schematic diagrams.Generating instrument loop diagrams/cable block diagrams.Generating PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules.Machinery safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261.Preparation of supporting technical & installation documents.Liaise with site teams to meet project deadlines.Participate in project commissioning & safety validation.Work in a safe and sustainable way.

Skills:

Have knowledge / experience of machine safety and safety circuits. It would be an advantage to understand component SIL and machine PL ratings, however, training can be provided if required.Have knowledge of PLC control wiring systems, instrumentation, and motor starter control types.Experience of AutoCAD, Amtech or equivalent software.Understanding of relevant standards to industrial automation & controls design.Be confident in fault finding in large control panels and machinery.

Specific skillset:

Hold Electrical qualifications HNC, BTEC and/or NVQ3.18th Edition.A work history of electrical design preferably within an industrial environment or food and beverage manufacturing.Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineer.
