The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating mobile/temporary water treatment plants and/or remediation systems, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including pumps, pipework, and PLCs. A solid understanding of water treatment equipment including the use of lamella clarifiers, filtration vessels, pH correction and pumps is essential.

Key Responsibilities

remediation systems, ensuring readiness for deployment on various projects.

– Installation & Mobilisation: Lead the setup and commissioning of water treatment plants and remediation systems at project sites across the UK and occasionally abroad.

– Operation & Maintenance: Operate, service, and maintain water treatment plants, ensuring optimal performance, including pH balancing through chemical dosing and/or CO2 injection.

– Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including pumps, pipework, and PLCs.

– Instrumentation Calibration: Conduct routine calibration of pH sensors, total suspended solids (TSS) sensors, and other monitoring instruments.

– Project Support: Collaborate with project managers on system design, installation, and maintenance, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.

– Assist with Pricing Works: Work with project managers to ascertain the necessary

equipment for projects and assist in pricing works accurately.

– Site Visits & Travel: Work away from home regularly, with occasional overseas

assignments. Travel throughout the UK will be required, along with visits to our Bristol yard for fabrication tasks as necessary.

Essential Skills

– Proven experience in mechanical/process engineering within the remediation or water

treatment sector.

– Strong fabrication skills, including welding (electrofusion welding experience is desirable).

– Expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic pump maintenance and troubleshooting.

– Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic electrical fault finding.

– Basic electrical knowledge, with a preference for candidates who are qualified

electricians.

– Knowledge of water treatment systems

– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process flow diagrams.

– Full clean UK driving licence (essential).

– Right to work in the UK (required)

Benefits:.

– Contributory Pension Scheme

– Flexible Benefits Programme: Including the option to buy additional holidays and private healthcare.

– Career Development: Regular training with industry–recognized qualifications and in–house personal development programs.

– Dynamic Work Environment: Opportunity to work on varied and challenging projects across the UK and Europe.

This role would be open for mid level engineers or maintenance technicians as this role is also a hands on role. Also happy to look at people who have remediation experience and senior engineers who have experience in waste water treatment.

The salary would be 35– 45k, depending on experience, with start date negotiable.
