Description
Bennett and game are representing an award–winning environmental consultancy specialising in ecology, arboriculture, flood risk and habitats. Following their Silver win for Best Place to Work at The Consultancy Awards 2025, they are hiring a Project Manager to lead delivery across residential development and land–promotion projects. This is a hands–on PM role owning scope, programme and budget while coordinating technical teams to deliver high–quality outputs for planning. This is an especially exciting opportunity due to company expansion. You'll be joining the new Bristol office, which is opening in the coming weeks, stepping in early to help shape the team.
With a busy pipeline in residential and strategic land, you will work alongside ecologists, arboriculturists and water specialists to keep projects moving on time within scope and to the required standard. Hybrid working and flexible hours available.

Take overall responsibility for effective delivery of assigned projects across residential and land–promotion workManage day–to–day tasks through the project lifecycle including programme, access, deliverables and qualityAct as primary client liaison on access, progress updates, change requests and general consultancyAppoint and mentor a Deputy PM and assign a Technical Lead when requiredMaintain CMAP or equivalent for timeline, resource and revenue scheduling with clear technical completion trackingKeep deliverables up to date in the report register and log mapping or desk–study needs on the GIS trackerMonitor budgets and WIP, forecast overspend early and recover through change control where possibleVerify Instruction to Proceed before work starts and ensure scope and contract complianceOrganise site access and prepare RAMS prior to surveysBrief project teams on scope, risks and deliverables, and chair internal progress meetings when neededCommunicate resource, equipment and vehicle needs to the resource coordinatorContribute to billing, raise invoices in CMAP and update the project trackerIdentify scope creep, agree changes with clients and secure funding before spend where feasiblePrepare fee proposals for follow–on work and manage the opportunity until won or closedAttend project reviews and provide regular progress updates to the Project Director
Project Manager Job Requirements
3+ years' experience in a project management or senior coordination role within an environmental or engineering consultancyProven delivery across residential development or land–promotion schemes with solid understanding of planning workflowsComfortable coordinating ecology survey programmes, BS5837 tree work and water environment inputs such as FRA and SuDSStrong commercial control with budgets, change management and invoicingProficient with CMAP or similar PM/ERP tools and confident using report registers and GIS trackersExperience with Nextweek software is desirable not essentialExcellent communication and stakeholder skills with the ability to mentor a Deputy PM and keep teams alignedStrong organisational skills with attention to QA, RAMS and on–time delivery
