The below job description will outline this position of: Paint Inspector

Typically, the Paint Inspector with experience in new build ship construction. This role involves overseeing paint application, surface prep, and coating inspections across all stages of shipyard production. You'll work closely with owners, shipyards, and technical teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.

Duties and responsibilities of the Paint Inspector:

Supervise and inspect painting operations to meet quality and safety standards. Ensure compliance with shipbuilding contracts, approved plans, and flag state (e.g. MCA) requirements. Attend inspections, maintain detailed records, and manage punch lists. Review shipyard drawings and technical documentation. Monitor surface prep, environmental conditions, wet/dry film thickness, and material traceability. Liaise with yard teams to resolve issues and advise on improvements. Report regularly to the new build superintendent on progress and deviations. Qualifications and requirement for the Paint Inspector:

Previous experience in marine paint inspection or coating supervision (shipbuilding/refit). Need to already have the right to work in India. Knowledge of coating systems, blast prep, and inspection tools/procedures. Strong understanding of contract specifications and shipbuilding practices. Able to work in shipyard environments including confined spaces, heights, and varying conditions. Familiarity with inspection standards, HSSE practices, and documentation control.
