Job Title: Radar Lead Engineer

Location: Warton - Onsite

Salary: GBP54,793+ depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

As a Team Leader, you will get the opportunity to develop the next generation of Radar systems, at the cutting edge of military capability, across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements through to design, development and implementation. Main responsibilities will involve: Concepting o Developing Radar concepts, which meet the customer need / requirement, for the FCAS/GCAP system with international partners (Japan & Italy)

o Providing SME Radar knowledge into cross-functional trade studies associated which relate to Radar Systems

o Acting as the primary Mission Systems point of contact for Radar Systems within the FCAS/GCAP Programme

o Providing oversight / technical leadership to supplier activities in this domain area

o Liaising with the tri-lateral MoDs to advise during the development of Radar requirements

o Executing plans to deliver and undertake oversight / review of performance assessments of Radar systems to support programme gate reviews, SRR and SFR Architecting - Providing technical oversight to the development of the Radar requirements set being modelled in a Model Based Systems Engineering toolset Radar System Design - Planning for and technical oversight / delivery of supplier activities to develop Radar systems through to PDR / CDR maturity Planning and implementation for Radar System Integration, simulation, synthetics and test Your skills and experiences: A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience Experience of working with Radar and/or Radio Frequency (RF) systems Experience of leading and managing engineering teams Systems engineering and engineering lifecycle experience Knowledge of systems engineering methods and tools (e.g. UML/SysML, MoDAF, MOOD, Matlab) Benefits:

Mission Systems Delivery Team:

This is an exciting role working in a fast-paced team on an advanced and highly capable sensing system which is at the heart of the next generation combat air systems. In this role, there is opportunity to work as a tri-national team and develop international relationships and experience international cultures.

The role presents opportunities to develop sensing technologies, working with key partners & suppliers and customers and exposure to a wider range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will be part of the Mission Systems Delivery Team (MSDT) delivering the Assessment Phase of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme. The team uses an agile work planning process to develop mission system concept options, architectures and designs for the various components of a future combat air system.

A vacancy exists for a Radar Lead Engineer, who is responsible for the development and delivery of all radar engineering activities as part of the FCAS programme delivering the next generation of military aircraft across the UK, Japan and Italy.
