Description

Job Title: Manual Machinist (with CNC Lathe Experience)

Location: Stroud

Hours: Double days 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm

Salary: Competitive based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathe machines to produce precision components across a range of projects.

Working from technical drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions, you will play a key role in delivering high–quality parts that meet stringent accuracy and finish requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual lathes and other workshop machinery to manufacture precision components. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate production. Carry out machining operations in line with production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Ensure that all work meets required quality standards, tolerances, and finish expectations. Maintain equipment, perform routine checks, and identify any maintenance needs. Support the wider team in meeting production targets and improving operational efficiency. Key Skills and Experience:

Proven experience operating manual lathes with strong knowledge of machining principles. Experience with CNC lathes and an understanding of programming or editing is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high–quality work. Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team. Good problem–solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
