Highways ITS Engineer National Highways SDF
Rate: Up to GBP52.50/hour (Umbrella)
Location: UK–wide (Base offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds)
Contract: Long–term (aligned with SDF project)
Working Pattern: Hybrid typically 2 days per week in the office or on–site, remainder remote
Morson Talent is recruiting on behalf of an international design consultancy delivering on the National Highways Scheme Development Framework. We are seeking an experienced Highways ITS Engineer to lead and manage Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Traffic Signal projects within a high–profile, long–term national infrastructure programme.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design activities on ITS and Traffic Signal projects
Liaise with clients and collaborate with internal teams to support business growth
Ensure technical excellence and safety in design delivery
Manage project resources, including forecasting and coordinating delivery to programme and budget
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as company H&S culture
Key Requirements
Proven experience in the design and management of ITS or Traffic Signal projects
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
In–depth understanding and application of relevant design standards
Ability to lead a design team and work independently
Experience in financial management and project cost control
Professional membership of a recognised industry institute/institution
