Description
The role
As an electronics instrumentation and commissioning engineer, you will carry out the tasks of installing and commissioning waveform monitoring and recording devices within a 275kV or 400kV high voltage substation environment throughout England & Wales. The role will be based out of our offices in Dalgety Bay, Fife, Scotland working 40 hrs per week Monday to Thursday 0730 to 1800, although this should be viewed as being flexible depending upon our clients availability.
Responsibilities
To undertake the administration and configuration of instrumentation, including:
Working at our factory in Fife to setup new equipment particular to the clients details and specifications.
Performing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) in attendance with the Client.
Performing on-site installation and commissioning (SCT).
Fault finding to module level.
Write up Site Survey Reports, Risk Assessment & Method Statements.
Understand electrical schematic drawings.
Manage subcontractors while working to CDM Regulations 2015.
English speaking with good technical understanding and reasoning.
Basic requirements
Good understanding in the use of electrical and electronic electrical test equipment.
Experience in embedded electronic systems and their software applications
Skilled in AutoCAD 2D (advanced training can be provided)
Ability to read and understand electrical circuit diagrams
Be highly self-motivated, have good organisational skills, and excellent punctuality
Have good fitness levels being capable of erecting scaffolding, lifting floor tiles and running steel wire armoured cables.
UK driving license
Team working environment.
Desired requirements Who we are
Experience working with fibre optic cabling, splicing equipment and patch cabinets.
Experience in Microsoft office products such as Excel and Word.
Experience in the use of hand power tools such as drills and cutting tools.

What we do
Elisys Engineering designs and builds instrumentation solutions for the UK's electricity transmission network. This includes SCADA and Advanced Monitoring equipment installed for the purpose of wide area electricity network fault analysis. While the products are designed and built in our Dalgety Bay offices, never the less a large aspect of our work is performed on-site and in accordance with carefully written risk assessments and method statements. This provides an assurance to our client that we have done our preparation, identified any risks and put the appropriate control measures in place in order to minimise those risks. Working safely is the responsibility of every individual team member.
