Description

Our client is a leading electronics manufacturer. They are recruiting for an experienced Soldering Technician to be based at their modern factory in Basildon, Essex. With over 40 years’ experience they have built a strong reputation for the on-time delivery of printed circuit boards, PCBAs, box builds, and final assemblies. Operating from their 2 UK sites.

Job role and scope

You will be part of the Production team in the factory at Basildon. You will primarily work in Second Stage (Through Hole soldering and SMT re-work) and may be required to working in other departments. You will be hand soldering PCBs to defined quality standards so it’s important that you have an understanding of general PCB manufacture & ESD control.

Main responsibilities

1. Hand soldering of conventional components to IPC standards, some re-work may be required for both conventional and SMT components

2. Pre-forming components

3. Reading work packs to determine product instructions and specifications

4. Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and resolving defects as necessary

5. Accurate marking & labelling of products

6. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Skills, knowledge & experience

* Experience and knowledge of soldering to IPC class 2 is essential. Class 3 is advantageous

* Experience of working within production of a manufacturing environment

* Demonstrates good manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination

* Methodical in task completion and good attention to detail

* Able to work individually or within a team

* Able to follow verbal and written work instructions

* Flexible and proactive approach to work

* Have suitable fitness levels (for standing, moving and manual handling) and good eyesight for handling colour-coded work packs.

Salary from £25,480 per annum (dependent on skills & experience)

Working hours: Full time is Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30

Holiday 20 days plus Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown) Plus, up to 3 days for long service

Pension scheme-Auto-enrolment with NOW pensions,5% + 3% company contributions
