Description

We are looking for a capable and motivated Mid-Level Lighting Technician with a solid technical foundation and a specific interest in LED lighting systems. The role is primarily based in our workshop, where you'll take ownership of pre-building, testing, and prepping LED fixtures and lighting equipment, wiring in automation units and all electrical aspects of our projects. You'll also support our team with on-site event installations, helping to deliver high-quality lighting systems to clients. Additionally, you will be responsible for the creation and management of our electrical/automation storeroom, ensuring that equipment is maintained, organized, and ready for deployment. This position is ideal for someone with a few years of hands-on experience, looking to take more ownership in a technical team, and keen to grow further within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

Ownership of the preparation, build, and testing of LED systems (pixel tape, battens, panels, screens)

Handle power and data distribution for LED and lighting installations

Manage cable looms, rigging prep, and lighting system builds in the workshop

Support on-site installs, including LED fixtures, custom lighting builds, and control systems

Assist with system addressing, patching, and troubleshooting

Ensure all equipment is maintained, cleaned, and returned in working condition

Maintain an organized inventory, and ensure all items are stored correctly and safely

Monitor electrical stock levels and flag shortages, damage, or servicing needs

Work with project managers to deliver installs efficiently and to a high standard

Read and interpret technical drawings, lighting plots, and kit lists

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop and storage environment

Required skills:

2-3 years' relevant experience

Solid understanding of LED systems and lighting protocols (DMX, ArtNet, sACN)

Familiar with LED pixel tape, drivers, PSUs, LED panels, and related accessories

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Willing to work flexible hours for event builds and de-rigs
