1500 watt 52V 21ah (Samsung cells) Bafang powered Ghost ebike VERY fast

Description

1500 watt Bafang BBSHD 02 mid drive motor (better quality than a ridiculously heavy and charge guzzling on/off hub motor) runs a 52volt 21ah (Samsung cells) battery and charger. I have periodically greased the main drive teeth as per Bafang guidelines. Motor runs quietly and smoothly. Original seller included a “250 watt 48volt” sticker which is on the motor- it’s legal honest guv 🤣. Base bike is a Ghost Kato 29er aluminium cross country mountain (medium 18 inch frame, set up for me in pictures at 5 ft 9 and 31 inch leg. Would suit 5 ft 5 to 5 ft 11.) bike chosen due to the stiffness and strength of the frame. This is the fifth one of these I've built and by far the best one. I upgraded the forks to higher spec. longer travel ones (Suntour Epixon140mm air forks with rebound adjust), the handlebars are 760 mm wide Nukeproof ones, brakes are Shimano hydraulics which are perfect for the job, tyres are EBike specific Schwalbe puncture proof , chain is a heavy duty KMC ebike specific. Had a lot of issues with chain line and derailleurs and chains wearing so fitted an 8 speed Alfine hub gear which works perfectly and maintains a perfect chain line. The thing that looks like a derailleur is a chain tensioner. The little switch on the handlebar is a fork lockout thing which I never really use. All the main cabling is routed inside the frame. There is a gear change detector fitted on the cable which cuts the power as you change gears to protect the transmission. The LCD display is the highest spec one available and shows charge, range, speed, and the setting you’re in. It is security locked with a 4 digit key to prevent casual theft. Practically its main use is as a speedo and I’ve set it pretty much 100% accurate. It also has a Suntour suspension seatpost fitted which makes it much much more comfortable. Riding it- you have five power levels. 1 is road legal, limited to 15.5 mph. I tend to use this around towns, pedestrians etc. 2 is 500 watts, 3 1000 watts, 4 around 1200 and 5 is 1500 watts. It’s pedal assist and torque sensitive- the harder you push the pedals the more the motor assists. Obviously, you know the law, I’ve had this up to 40mph on the flat on a PRIVATE ROAD. 😐 It will cruise along at 35 mph with ease and makes you feel like Superman when you ride it! Range wise, full power it will go about 25 miles with this battery, you should fit the largest capacity one you can find. Taking it easy in power 1 and 2 I did 48 miles and had a bit of charge left. There’s a front light fitted which runs off the battery. There is also a thumb throttle which unleashes the whole 1500watts and technically makes the bike illegal for road use. If this bothers you it takes ten minutes to unplug it and take it off. It’s been used for road commuting, never ridden in the rain or wet conditions and never used off-road although off-road duties would be fine on it and I will throw in a folding Maxxis Ardent dirt tyre for the front if the buyer wants to take it on trails. Battery has been kept indoors and handled with care, never dropped or banged about and stored on half charge when not in use. I have no use for it now as I no longer commute along Oxfordshire country lanes and rarely use it. Comes with the originally supplied charger. I’m not sure about shipping the battery although am willing to box/pack it for any courier the buyer might want to send. Collection and cash/bank transfer preferred. I prefer you to see it first.
