Certain Advantage is proud to partner with a forward-thinking automotive organisation to recruit an experienced and highly capable Project Engineer. This role is critical in leading the design, coordination, and delivery of complex engineering projects—from new infrastructure and facilities to high-spec equipment installations. You’ll combine technical expertise with strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare designs, project controls, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and production plans for engineering-based projects.

Oversee the transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, and equipment.

Monitor project progress and performance against agreed plans, taking proactive action to resolve operational issues and minimise delays.

Identify, develop, and secure the resources required for successful project delivery.

Prepare engineering standards, designs, and work specifications, and develop accurate project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.

Select materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors to meet project objectives.

Provide coaching, review work, and delegate tasks to junior professionals.

Manage large-scale projects or processes with minimal oversight, solving complex technical challenges.

Your Background:

Proven track record managing large, complex projects from design to commissioning.

Strong knowledge of engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and installation procedures.

Skilled in developing schedules, budgets, and forecasts, and managing contractors and suppliers.

Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Strong problem-solving ability with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach.

Experience coaching and guiding junior engineers or project staff.

During the Interview, We May Ask You About:

Engineering projects you’ve led from concept through commissioning.

How you’ve resolved complex operational or technical challenges.

Your experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Examples of coaching or mentoring junior team members.
