Mobile HGV Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile HGV Technician to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods and light commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will spend approx. 8-12 weeks in the workshop to begin with getting to know the diagnostic systems and product but will then be mobile with a van and fuel card.

Responsibilities

* Conduct maintenance and repairs on HGVs / LCVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

* Perform diagnostics using schematics and electrical experience to identify issues effectively.

* Utilise hand tools and power tools for assembly and equipment repair.

* Carry out heavy lifting tasks as required during maintenance operations.

* Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time taken.

* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

Requirements

* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in HGV / LCV maintenance and repair.

* Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics.

* Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of the role.

* Excellent communication skills for effective customer service interactions.

* A valid Class 1 driving license is required, allowing for operation of HGVs as necessary.

On completion of probation this will be an on call mobile role for a HGV Technician on a 40 hour week across a 24/7, 365 day basis.

Wage from £18ph depending on experience plus overtime and standby/callout bonuses. OTE is up to £60k a year.
