Import and Export Executive

Alma Personnel are pleased to announce working with their Warwick based client to recruit for an experienced Import and Export Officer/Executive to be based on site due to company expansion.

A minimum of 3+ years experience in handling customs clearances and forwarding for customs purposes is required.

1. You will have a strong familiarity with HMRC regulations pertaining to Customs clearances for import and export.

2. Knowledge of Inward Processing Relief (IPR), Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), Bill of Discharge, and Customs Warehousing procedures.

3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately without constant supervision.

4. Proactive approach and work with accuracy and attention to detail.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Role and duties:-

The main responsibilities include :-

* Raising shipment packs and collating supporting documentation (Packing lists, Commercial Invoices, Proofs of Delivery

* Coordinating customs clearance for imports and managing exports in a timely manner

* Liaising with Freight Forwarders to assist with inbound clearances as required

* Creating monthly Import/Export shipment packs that are clear, concise, and suitable for audit purposes

* Liaising with internal colleagues i.e Stores, Sales, Repairs and Procurement, regarding import & export of parts & components

* Checking and verifying Freight Forwarder invoices for both imports and exports for authorization and payment

* Interrogating the HMRC website to determine the correct HS codes for newly created components

* Completing Bills of Discharge as per HMRC generated timescales

* This is a diverse role requiring flexibility and combining aspects from goods receiving and dispatch to dealing with HMRC and freight companies to support the business
