Depot Manager – Felixstowe
Full-time | Permanent | £38,000 – £40,000
Monday to Friday, 8am–5.30pm (with some flexibility)
We’re working with a well-established truck and trailer hire business that has been successfully operating for over 40 years. They’re looking for an experienced Depot Manager to take the lead at their busy Felixstowe site.
The role combines operational leadership with some business development, so ideally you’ll need a balance of commercial awareness, people management skills, and a solid understanding of trucks, trailers, and HGV parts.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring both the team and the fleet are performing at their best. This will include:
Leading and managing a team of 6 staff (Fitters, Yard Assts/Valeters, and Office Assts)
Driving sales and building strong customer relationships
Overseeing vehicle checks on return, managing any damages, and arranging repairs, servicing, MOTs, and cleaning
Managing workshop operations, stock, and supplier relationships
Maintaining health and safety standards across the site
What We’re Looking For
We want to hear from candidates with proven experience in commercial vehicle rental or similar roles within automotive or transport. You should be comfortable talking technical details on HGVs, trucks, trailers, and parts, and confident leading a team to deliver both operational and commercial results.
Relevant backgrounds could include: Parts Manager, Sales Manager (industry relative), Operations Manager, Service Manager, or Transport Manager.
