Tallboy Sleigh Chest of Drawers -Willis & Gambier - Hevea Cherry/Mahogany
Shepton Mallet, Somerset
£395
Description
A high quality tallboy sleigh style chest of drawers made by Willis & Gambier in a dark cherry/mahogany finish. I believe that these are made of solid hevea wood and prima vera veneer. Willis & Gambier still produce a similar set today which retails for £1200 new. The moulding at the top houses a shallow velvet lined drawer which is ideal for keeping jewellery and watches inside. Below are 5 full width drawers which graduate up in size. I have a pair of bedside drawers by another maker that match these well, please see my other items if you're interested in them.
In good pre-owned condition with some scratches to the top and top edges of drawers, and a deep scratch to one end. One drawer has a ledge in it probably where it would have had a removable tray inside, however this is no longer present, so it can just be used as a normal drawer. The velvet in the top drawer is clean and tidy and all the drawer bases are solid.
Dimensions: Height 135 x depth 52 x width 90 cm
Internal height top drawer: 4 cm,
Internal height 2nd drawer: 10cm,
Internal height bottom drawer: 20cm
