Description
This bed was made in the mid 20th century from solid mahogany and pirana pine. The rich colours of these contrasting Brazilian woods are combined to make a beautiful balance of light and dark. The curved head and base boards and the candy twist head posts lend the bed a magical feel. The mahogany posts have been hand turned on a wood lathe and there is a hand carved mahogany motif on the base board.
The base is made from pine planks. The bed is easily assembled from only 4 components, the 2 sides and the head baord and base board. The base planks are then screwed on.

The bed takes a standard 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in double mattress (135cm x 190cm)
