Royal Albert is the world's most popular bone china, loved for its inherent beauty and unique designs. The success of Royal Albert's royal association dates back to the late 1800s. In 1896, Thomas Wild took over the Albert Works near Stoke-on-Trent - the factory named the year before to commemorate the birth of Prince Albert. In 1897, Thomas Wild & Co produced a range of commemorative wares to celebrate Victoria's Diamond Jubilee: an association with royalty that continues to this day and which led to the name of Royal Albert.
Made in England, the Lady Carlyle Tea Service decoration continues the floral tradition of Royal Albert. The intricate pattern features a deep pink border, complimented by a highly stylised design with roses, bluebells, posies and forget-me-nots. Elaborate gold scrolling recalls the extravagant Rococo style of the 18th century. Vibrant multi-coloured floral bouquet to the centre of the cake plate, saucers and side plates.
